RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCT) — A former Rowan County businesswoman pled guilty on March 16 in a Wake County County Court for embezzlement of state property, the North Carolina Department of Revenue announced.
Melissa Anne Fleming, 63, a member of Island Machining, LLC, aid and abet the business to embezzle, misapply, and convert to its own use approximately $123,756.53 in North Carolina sales tax from January 2015 through May 2024, according to information presented in court.
