Nearly 100 years later, detectives seek name of Charlotte’s ‘Boxcar Boy’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A nearly 100-year-old mystery is right in the heart of Charlotte. A teenage boy killed in 1932 on a train car has never been identified.

Now, cold case detectives with Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are trying to find his name. They want to see if this unknown boy, who has become known as “Boxcar Boy,” has any family left somewhere across the country.

Detectives say they need your help to find answers…
