Clarksville teacher accused of showing inappropriate photo to student

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway after a Clarksville teacher reportedly showed an inappropriate photo to a student.

According to the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS), law enforcement and the Department of Children’s Services are investigating a report against Montgomery Central High School teacher, Matthew Vedder.

Vedder is married to Dr. Jean Luna-Vedder, who is the current director of Director of Schools for CMCSS. Dr. Luna-Vedder has recused herself from any part of the investigation or disciplinary proceedings, according to the district.

A spokesperson for the district said Vedder is accused of accidentally briefly displaying an inappropriate photo on his personal device while showing an appropriate photo to a student in class on Monday, March 9.
