I-Team: Ruling upheld – Shirilla appeal one day late

(WJW) – The FOX 8 I-Team has found an appeals court just upheld a Cuyahoga County judge’s decision denying an appeal for Mackenzie Shirilla because it was filed one day late.

Victim reported dead at scene of overnight crash

Shirilla is serving 15 years to life in prison for driving a car at speeds up to 100 miles per hour before barreling into a brick building killing two passengers.

It happened in Strongsville in 2022 when Shirilla was 17.

Last year, Judge Nancy Margaret Russo denied an appeal on the grounds it was filed one day past a 365-day deadline…
