Former Columbia City Man Receives Seven Years In Prison For Drug Possession

WARSAW – A former Columbia City man will serve seven years at the Indiana Department of Correction for drug possession.

James Alan Adkins, 39, 5612 N. 250W, Columbia City, pled guilty to possession of 10 to 28 grams of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; resisting law enforcement with the use of a vehicle, a level 6 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.

On Monday, March 16, Adkins was sentenced in Kosciusko Circuit Court by Judge Matthew Buehler.

Defense Attorney Joseph Bauer stated that Adkins did and has accepted responsibility for his actions. Since Adkins did complete the Jail Chemical Addiction Program at the Kosciusko County Jail, Bauer stated that Adkins “demonstrated his willingness to make a positive change.” Bauer noted to the court that Adkins will be serving his sentence consecutively with a three-year sentence from Allen County…
