Women from 70 police agencies around Michigan talk challenges of job

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 350 women from 70 agencies are in Grand Rapids this week for the 2026 Women in Law Enforcement Conference.

The conference organized by Michigan State Police brings women together to share ideas about some of the biggest issues they face in law enforcement.

“Women in law enforcement we make up a minority and to be able to all come together and empower each other, I think it’s a really good opportunity, especially for someone who maybe hasn’t experienced it, just to learn from other women,” said Madison Logston, an officer with the Midland Police Department attending the event.
