A Saturday evening commute at Penn Station took a grim turn when a 55-year-old man was found unconscious in the northbound waiting area for the C and E trains shortly before 7 p.m., authorities said. He was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. An eyewitness told Eyewitness News the man may have been assaulted just minutes earlier, and officers remained on the platform as they processed the scene. Uptown A, C and E trains bypassed 34th Street while investigators worked, snarling the evening commute for riders passing through the station.
