Bears in Fifth Place at Halfway Point of Marino Classic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Getting off to a hot start in the second round, Baylor men’s golf moved up two spots to fifth through the first 27 holes on Sunday at The Michael A. Marino Classic at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

Led by Jonas Appel and Sam Dossey, the Bears shot 8-under on the front nine of an incomplete second round and moved up two spots to fifth at the halfway point at 6-under. Liberty and Louisville are at the top of the standings at 12-under and 11-under, respectively, followed by North Carolina State (10-under) and the host Coastal Carolina team (7-under).

With rain expected on Monday, the teams will try to get in the remaining nine holes for the second round with a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start before wrapping up the 54-hole tournament with the third round on Tuesday…
