Two hospitalized including N.J. firefighter injured fighting early morning blaze

Two people were hospitalized Monday, including a firefighter who suffered burns while fighting an early-morning blaze in Newark, officials said.

Newark firefighters responded to 319 Hawthorne Avenue at 3:59 a.m. for a report of a fire and rescued an unresponsive man from a first-floor apartment, officials said.

The man was taken to University Hospital for treatment and is reportedly in critical condition, officials said…
