Pensacola man pleads guilty after explosion injures 1, damages Fort Walton Beach business

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A member of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club has pleaded guilty to arson after an explosion damaged a Fort Walton Beach business and injured one of its employees, according to U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Florida, 42-year-old Gregory E. Simonds Jr. of Pensacola pleaded guilty to arson by means of an explosive causing personal injury.

Court documents show that on Feb. 15, 2025, Simonds had an altercation with a group of people with the Pagans Motorcycle Club in the parking lot of the Emerald Coast Harley Davidson on Beal Parkway in Fort Walton Beach.

Simonds then set off an explosive that damaged the nearby Jimmy John’s restaurant and injured one of its employees before driving off. He was identified by witnesses and was soon arrested…
