Driver struck in the head by massive oak branch in wind-fueled Martin Highway incident

PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — High winds turned a picturesque drive into a nightmare on Martin Highway when a falling tree pierced a truck’s windshield, injuring the driver.

According to deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, a Toyota Tacoma traveling westbound on Martin Highway near Salah Drive was facing heavy head-on winds when a gust caused a large rotted oak tree to fall directly onto the car.
