The Modesto Marathon is right around the corner, but drivers should be careful about which corners they turn this weekend.
Several roads will be closed Sunday for the event, with heavy traffic expected in and around downtown, where more than 2,500 runners will begin and end their trek. Drivers should expect delays near the closures and plan detours ahead of this weekend.
The 26-mile course stretches from its start at the intersection of M Street and 11th Street to its turnaround — a farmhouse about 1.3 miles west of Beckwith Road’s intersection with North Gates Road.
