Man arrested after leading police on a vehicle chase

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man was arrested Friday after leading police on a vehicle chase in a stolen pickup truck and crashing it into a ditch, Toledo police said.

Trenton Farmer, 24, of Toledo, is charged with receiving stolen property, failure to comply with the order of a police officer, and vandalism, court records show. Police say they received a report of a stolen Ford-F150 pickup truck from Yark Ford earlier in the day and at about 1:15 p.m. Friday observed Farmer “doing donuts” in the middle of the Collingwood Boulevard and Dorr Street intersection.

Police say Farmer fled from them in the truck when they attempted to perform a traffic stop. Officers briefly lost sight of the vehicle, but Farmer was spotted minutes later by other officers while stopped at a traffic light near the Monroe Street and Secor Road intersection.
