JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Third graders in Springfield, Willard and Nixa are learning how agriculture connects to their daily lives through Missouri Farmers Care’s Agriculture Education on the Move program this spring.
In Springfield, local educator David Aldrich is leading students at New Covenant Academy and Springfield Ag Academy through the program’s 10-lesson curriculum. In Willard, Willard FFA member educators are teaching students at Willard Orchard Hill Elementary. In Nixa, Nixa FFA member educators are leading lessons for students at John Thomas and Century elementary schools.
Missouri Farmers Care says the Ag Moves program is designed to help students better understand the connection between food, fuel and farming while also creating leadership opportunities for the students who teach it.
