A local bluegrass band called The Gillyweeds is getting attention for all the wrong reasons after a social media post claimed all six of its members were killed in a plane crash.
However, The Gillyweeds “manager” and local multimedia artist, Todd Pitman, confirms the band, and their demise, is all made up. Pitman says the fictional band was part of multimedia treasure hunt experiences he creates.
