(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Coroner has identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a pickup truck in a crash on Tuesday, March 10, near Shooks Run Park.
According to a press release from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), the coroner identified the pedestrian as 77-year-old Anton Gerhard.

CSPD said Gerhard was killed as he was walking westbound on Costilla Street and was crossing Wahsatch Avenue on the north side of the intersection. A truck heading east on Costilla made a left turn onto northbound Wahsatch when it hit Gerhard. Despite medical intervention, Gerhard was declared dead on the scene.
