First Alert Forecast: Kona storm diminishing, but more showers ahead

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Weather conditions will improve over most of the islands Monday as a strong kona low moves away, reducing the threat of heavy rain and ending the strong damaging winds.

Showers will still linger over the islands, especially toward the middle of the week when remnants from the storm are reactivated with more showers late Wednesday.

We have a First Alert for the end of the week, when a surface low pressure area is forecast to develop near or over the islands, with the possibility of moderate to heavy rain as early as Friday into the weekend…
