When the RECON cheer team from Latham’s Woodlands Elite Albany gym headed to the recent National Cheerleaders Association All-Star Nationals in Houston, the goal for the team’s coaches was — if everything went perfectly — to have a chance to land on the podium.
“We were just going in thinking top five was good, top three if we were really on point,” coach Rachael Ruggles said.
