KSU student gets 3-year sentence for crash that killed ‘closest friend’

A Pennsylvania man will spend several years behind bars for a crash that killed a friend and injured another motorist, but only after he receives his university degree.

Judge Laurie J. Pittman sentenced Jakob Quentin White, 21, to three years in prison during his sentencing hearing March 16 in Portage County Common Pleas Court.

Pittman, however, acknowledged that during the course of his case, White’s behavior had been good and he had followed all requirements set by the court. As a result, she gave White until June 25 to report for the beginning of his incarceration, after his expected June 19 graduation from Kent State University…
