MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. – The director of Mecklenburg County’s Child, Family and Adult Services Department has resigned. Kim Henderson’s resignation comes amid growing calls for answers in the death of six-year-old Dominique Moody. Moody was found not breathing in an east Charlotte home, in deplorable conditions, back in December. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Earlier this month, family members called on the county for answers as to why there was a lack of intervention in the case prior to the girl’s death. In a statement to WCCB Charlotte, Mecklenburg County officials say Henderson’s resignation is, “in no way associated with any recent case.”…
