After the death of a Biglerville teen at Letterkenny Army Depot, a federal investigation is underway

CHAMBERSBURG – Pfc. Krystofer Lopez, 18, of Biglerville, Pennsylvania, died from wounds sustained during a training incident while on duty at Letterkenny Army Depot on Thursday.

While people on social media are claiming to know what happened, the federal government will investigate the situation.

Attorney Clint Barkdoll advised, “When these things happen, everybody needs to reserve judgment and opinions. I mean, it’s tragic, any way you cut it. We don’t know what happened. It’s just been reported that he died. We have no idea what happened. And because it was federal property, this will be a federal investigation with Army investigators on the ground on it. This does not involve local officials, and it may be quite a while until we learn more details about what happened. I also thought it was sad I saw in the reports that this young man was also working as a security guard at Dickinson College. I mean, it just seems like he was getting his life started, was on a very good track, trying to do what he needed to do to succeed, and then for this to happen. It’s just a tragic situation. I see that the flags across the state have been ordered at half staff because of this death.”…
