Hardin Valley In Shock As Fatal Motorcycle Crash Shuts Murdock Road

A fatal crash in Hardin Valley has shut down a stretch of Murdock Road at Harding Drive, according to authorities on scene. Emergency crews remained at the intersection while investigators worked the wreck, and traffic was routed around the area. The collision involved a motorcycle and was declared fatal by responders at the site.

According to WBIR, Rural Metro Fire reported on social media that “crews are on the scene of a fatal car accident involving a motorcycle on Murdock Rd at Harding Drive” and urged drivers to avoid the area. The station noted that Rural Metro and other agencies were handling the scene and warned that motorists should expect delays. WBIR reported that the rider had not been identified and that no details about possible contributing factors had been released.

Rural Metro Fire, which serves much of Knox County outside the Knoxville city limits, confirmed its crews were working the crash and again asked drivers to steer clear while first responders remained on scene.
