Passed out drug suspect arrested in pool parking lot in The Villages

A Summerfield man was arrested on drug charges after a deputy found him passed out in a parked car at a pool in The Villages

A deputy responded to the Village of Dunedin neighborhood pool, regarding a suspicious person complaint around 7 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The complainant described a man, later identified as 48-year-old Tony Aaron Adams, passed out in a blue Buick.

Upon arrival, the deputy saw the car reversed-parked in the parking lot. He locked eyes with Adams, who immediately unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car. The deputy asked if he was OK and if he had any ID, to which he stated he was and gave his name, the report said.

A check of his criminal record revealed he had a writ of bodily attachment issued out of Lake County. Due to this, he was detained. He then asked if he could grab a drink that was sitting in the passenger seat of the car, the report said…
