Rochester looking to recruit members for Civilian Public Safety Interview Panel

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The City of Rochester is looking for members of its Civilian Public Safety Interview Panel.

The panel is meant to play a role in hiring Rochester police officers. Panelists would do group interviews with recruits and gather their opinions on policing, culture, race, and knowledge of Rochester. Panelists would then share the information with the chief and the RPD Command staff.

In order to qualify for the panel, you must be a Rochester resident who is 21 years old or older, be available during business hours for interviews, pass a background check, have at least a high school diploma or GED, be willing to serve a two-year term, and finish police academy and implicit bias training…
