A response letter published by the Georgia Department of Transportation regarding a proposed roundabout in Meldrim showed the majority of respondents are not in favor of the project. Comments were collected from Oct. 28-Dec. 4, 2025 and of the 98 respondents, 60% were opposed.
According to GDOT, there have been six fatalities since 2013 at the intersection of Sand Hill Road/Marlow Road and Highway 17.
