FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. — One week ago, I personally addressed the Fayetteville-Manlius School District Board of Education to address its failure to follow New York State law in the secretive manner in which it selected its new school superintendent, Dr. Magda Parvey.
I felt compelled to speak during the Public Comment period once I realized the board had discussed, decided and voted without ever talking about the finalist in public.
As I investigated, I learned the full board convened on three occasions to interview the candidates. The Board held each meeting away from school buildings. There was no public notice of the meetings. No gaveling in to start them. No entering into Executive Session. No minutes taken or shared…
