One lane reopens on I-77 North in Summit County after 23-vehicle crash: sheriff

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) — A 23-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 77 North in Summit County caused a major traffic backup.

The crash happened just after noon, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. The backup appeared to go all the way to the Akron-Canton Airport.

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that all lanes on I-77 North were closed near Arlington Road. The left shoulder was also blocked on I-77 South in that area.

The leftmost lane reopened just before 2 p.m., according to authorities.
