The parents of slain travel vlogger Gabby Petito — mother and stepfather Nichole and Jim Schmidt, and father and stepmother Joseph and Tara Petito — will be the keynote speakers at Faces of Hope’s Faces of Courage gala in April.
Petito, 22, was murdered by her fiancé at Grand Teton National Park in August 2021. Her disappearance and killing, and the hunt for the suspect who took his own life, received international media attention.
Her parents launched the Gabby Petito Foundation later that year to advocate for victims of domestic violence. They have facilitated domestic violence prevention trainings, spoken at true crime conventions and participated in a Netflix documentary about their daughter’s case…
