ALBANY — A police officer pepper-sprayed a group of women Sunday morning after police were summoned to Washington Tavern for reports of a man armed with a knife.
Officers were called around 12:25 a.m. and learned there had been “an altercation” between a 31-year-old man and a member of the bar’s security staff, the department said in a statement issued Monday afternoon. The man allegedly pulled a knife and “ran toward security in a threatening manner before fleeing the scene on foot.”
Officers spotted the man near Western Avenue and Quail Street and arrested him. He is facing menacing and criminal possession of a weapon charges. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to the Albany County jail with bail set at $20,000…
