Miley Cyrus Revives Hannah Montana for Disney+ Special, Fans Buzz About Potential Tour
Get ready to rock out like it’s the early 2000s again! Miley Cyrus is bringing back her iconic blonde alter ego, Hannah Montana, for a special 20th-anniversary celebration on Disney+. A new trailer, released on March 17, shows Cyrus stepping back into Hannah’s shoes, performing two fan-favorite songs and stirring up major nostalgia.
The trailer features Cyrus belting out “Best of Both Worlds,” the catchy theme song from the beloved Disney Channel sitcom that ran from 2006 to 2011, as well as the powerful ballad “The Climb,” from the 2009 film “Hannah Montana: The Movie.” Fans also got a glimpse of throwback footage, magazine covers, a convertible with “HM 20” on the license plate, and even a studio recreation of Hannah’s house.
“We have so many shared memories. We actually grew up together,” Cyrus tells the crowd in the trailer.
“I loved being Hannah then, I’m so living for it now.” The trailer also teases a heartwarming exchange between Miley and her real-life and TV father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and a candid interview with “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper.
Will Hannah Montana Hit the Road?
While the special has fans buzzing, there are currently no announced plans for a Hannah Montana tour. Cyrus has previously spoken about her reasons for not touring since her 2014 “Bangerz” world tour.
In a May 2023 interview with British Vogue, she explained that while she enjoys performing for friends, “singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love.” She described the experience as isolating, lacking connection and safety.
