Scammer tricked Northern Virginia woman into believing ICE had her husband

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va (7News) — A woman told Loudoun County deputies that she was scammed after receiving a call that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had her husband, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

Deputies received a call on Monday at around 12:30 p.m. about the scam.

Officials learned from the woman that someone called her and told her that her husband was being held by ICE and would only be released if she paid an undisclosed fee…
