BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The 9th annual Bakersfield Marathon is on the mark, set and ready to go for Sunday.
The marathon takes place Sunday, March 22 and is one of the biggest events of the year in Bakersfield. The marathon along with thousands of runners will over multiple streets of Bakersfield for much of the day into the middle of the afternoon.

It’s a celebration of the city’s history, its people and community. The marathon course begins and ends at the Kern County Museum and winds through several historic neighborhoods and places in our city.
The marathon itself also serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon bringing runners from across the country and the world.
