A Shelby County grand jury has indicted a Calera man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Montevallo in October 2025.
Devven Darnell Johnson, 31, is charged with murder in the death of Cedric Jacquese Carter, 26, of Ensley. He also faces a charge of certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
