Detroit police are again asking for the public’s help after a 38-year-old woman was shot while driving on the city’s east side on Feb. 4, a case that has investigators chasing down a gunman who opened fire from a passing SUV.
According to police, the woman was behind the wheel around 8:54 p.m. in the 14200 block of Mettetal Street when an unknown suspect pulled up alongside her vehicle and fired, hitting her. She was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital for treatment. Officials have not released her name or her current condition.
Witnesses told investigators the suspect vehicle took off north on Mettetal, then turned eastbound onto Grand River Avenue.
