(KRON) — A preliminary 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Gilroy Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was nearly 5 miles northeast of Gilroy and 11 miles southeast of Morgan Hill.
The quake occurred at 6:48 a.m., USGS said, at a depth of 4.2 miles. People reported feeling the shaking in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties, according to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” survey.
