Anderson Co deputies announce second arrest in nearly 25-year-old cold case

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office reports making an additional arrest on Tuesday in connection with a nearly 25-year-old cold case.

Deputies said Carlos Mondreal Chamblee, 53, is facing charges after a 29-year-old mother named Jennifer Lawson was shot and killed in 2001.

Three men with a dark-colored sedan along Camelot Forest Drive in Belton got into an argument with another person at a party on June 24, 2001, and were asked to leave, according to deputies.

The men, before leaving, stopped their car and fired at least one shot from inside the car. It went through a trailer wall and hit a man’s shoulder before striking Lawson in the head, officials said…
