The legacy of Shorty’s Grill continues in Loris

Shorty’s Grill in Loris is a symbol of tradition. At 4115 Meeting St., a block north of the Carolina Lines railroad track, Shorty’s has been the hub of dining in Loris going on 47 years.

Try to find a parking place in the 4100 block, anywhere near lunch hour, and it becomes evident how popular Shorty’s is. Customers pack the spots in front of the restaurant every day of the week, except Sunday, when it’s closed. Shorty’s menu consists of eggs, grits, bacon, and sausage in the morning and hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, subs and salads throughout the day. Shorty’s is also famous for its hand-cut French fries.

And of course chicken bog is king in Loris, and the special every Thursday at Shorty’s is Nick’s signature version of the iconic Loris dish.
