MILTON, Fla. (WKRG) — More Milton residents are eligible to take advantage of the flood insurance discount, according to City of Milton officials.

According to a news release, the city has been working to reduce flood risk by planning, educating the public, floodplain management and mitigation programs.
That work has paid off as the city’s Community Rating System under the National Flood Insurance Program has been updated to a CRS Class 6 rating. That rating qualifies residents for a 20% discount on federally backed flood insurance premiums.
