Mobile towing company appeals 60-day suspension, denies Mardi Gras violations

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — A Mobile towing company is pushing back against accusations that it violated the city’s towing ordinance during Mardi Gras. Mobile police cited B&B Auto Wrecker for operating without proper requirements and suspended the company from the city’s rotation for 60 days. The towing company says that could cost the business tens of thousands of dollars. Now, it’s appealing the decision.

The owner of B&B Towing, Brad Walker, told Mobile City Council members during their meeting Tuesday he may have been sitting in his tow truck near the Lundi Gras parade route, but he says he wasn’t there to tow vehicles.

“If you know Brad Walker, you know he is never not in a wrecker. I mean, he came to my wedding and parked in the venue in a wrecker,” said Walker’s daughter Hollie Mixson…
