Driver killed in crash on ramp to N.J. Turnpike service area

A 40-year-old driver was killed Monday morning when he crashed into a tractor-trailer parked along an exit ramp on the New Jersey Turnpike near a service area.

Mohamed Hassan’s SUV rear-ended the truck and then veered off the road to the right and into a light pole at 6:02 a.m. at the James Fenimore Cooper Service Area in Mount Laurel, State Police said.

Hassan, of Glen Allen, Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene on the northbound side of the toll road, officials said…
