CLEVELAND — A 7-ton meteor was what lit up the skies throughout the Northeast on Tuesday, NASA confirmed.
The space agency said the asteroid was nearly 6 feet in diameter and was traveling at around 45,000 mph when it entered the atmosphere. The object then fragmented in the sky, unleashing the same amount of energy as around 250 tons of TNT, which caused explosive noises and even shook homes around Ohio.
