MoCo SWAT team takes man into custody after barricade at Silver Spring house

A 29-year-old man is facing one charge of first-degree assault after he barricaded himself for six hours inside a residence in Silver Spring’s Layhill area on Sunday, Montgomery County police said Sunday night in a press release.

Police said that Daniel Abraha of Silver Spring was also facing an additional charge of malicious destruction of property, but only the assault charge appeared in online court records. Abraha is being represented by a Maryland public defender.
