A Texas man was executed Wednesday evening for the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend and her 8-year-old son in 2013, offering repeated apologies to her older son, who survived multiple stab wounds and was present to witness the execution.
Cedric Ricks, 51, was declared dead at 6:55 p.m. CDT after receiving a lethal injection of the sedative pentobarbital at the state prison in Huntsville.
