Brandon denies permit request for battery energy storage system

BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – Brandon leaders heard from the public during a zoning hearing over a proposed battery energy storage system near a neighborhood.

Over the past month, there has been a debate in Brandon regarding the proposal from Black Mountain Energy Storage to building the storage system near residential properties along Trickhambridge Road.

During Monday’s meeting, many residents’ concerns centered around possible fire hazards, toxins in the air and noise, but some were simply about transparency.
