LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – Following the death of one Lee County officer and serious injuries to another in Rankin County during school traffic duty, Lamar County Schools District’s police department is speaking out to avoid similar tragedies here at home.
“We are people, just like y’all,” said Deputy Chief Tonieria Robinson. “So we would love to go home to our family every night. I know we all signed up to be police officers, to protect and serve, but we also do have a family.”
