Sunday turned deadly on U.S. 90A near Richmond when a two-vehicle crash left three people dead and three others injured, according to authorities. The highway was shut down between Pitts Road and Harlem Road as emergency crews swarmed the scene. Officials have not yet released the victims’ names or said what triggered the collision.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the wreck along westbound U.S. 90A between Pitts Road and Harlem Road, where three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were hurt and taken to nearby hospitals, including the driver of a truck and two passengers from the other vehicle.
As crews worked to investigate and clear the debris, both directions of U.S. 90A between Harlem Road and Pitts Road were closed to traffic, according to KHOU.
