Madison’s west side would gain two mixed-use buildings with 227 new housing units under a proposal that took hours to work through at the Plan Commission’s meeting on Monday.
Located just north of the Beltline off of South Whitney Way, the project would require the demolition of an existing building at 5534 Medical Circle, a conditional use permit to exceed the unit and height limits for the area, and a certified survey map to combine two parcels for a single development.
Nick Orthmann, director of development at Bear Development LLC, urged the commission to approve all three.
