Union warns of up to 22 full-time LCC instructor layoffs amid proposed program cuts

EUGENE, Ore. — More layoffs are coming to Lane Community College, along with two programs being shut down, according to the Lane Community College Education Association.

The union, which represents faculty at the college, says the proposed cuts could result in as many as 22 full time and several part time instructors possibly losing their jobs.

It says it received an email on March 10 from the college that listed cuts to the Health Information Management and Criminal Justice programs, as well as in the Health and PE department, the Multi-Cultural Center, the Gender Equality Center, the library, tutoring services, and the adult basic and secondary education department…
