K9 deputy finds 15.6 grams of meth during Storey County traffic stop; driver arrested

STOREY COUNTY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A man was arrested after a traffic stop in Storey County led to the discovery of methamphetamine, according to the Storey County Sheriff’s Office.

A Storey County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates on State Route 341 around 6:35 p.m. on March 16. Authorities say the driver, identified as 39-year-old Ryan Rogers of Reno, had no valid driver’s license, no vehicle registration and no proof of insurance.

While the deputy was completing a citation and requesting a tow truck, K9 Deputy Chino arrived on scene with his handler. Authorities say Chino was deployed on the vehicle and provided a positive alert to the odor of narcotics…
