Higley Unified OKs tentative new budget

The Higley Unified School District Governing Board approved a tentative $111.4 million maintenance and operations budget for the 2026-27 school year that relies on a combination of staff cuts and carryforward funds to balance declining revenue.

The board’s unanimous approval on March 3 allows the district to start issuing employment contracts for the next school year. Final adoption of the budget is scheduled for June.
